My conures love to play with the wind chimes made of metal. They loved them so much that when they broke I took the chimes and made toys for inside the cages. They love to make the chimes make sound. I was talking with a girl at the pet shop who told me I shouldn't let them play with them as they could get zinc poisoning. I went home and took them out of the cages, went online and bought some chimes that were specifically for birds play. I got them in and they feel like plastic and don't make the chimes sound at all. Does anyone know if there is any metal ones I can make or buy that actually sound like real chimes?
Thanks!!

Look for stainless steel ones, check my safe bird store.

You might be able to find one in stainless steel. Make sure they're not the type that a bird could get entangled in, specifically long strings. Those strings they use for chimes (like dental floss texture) can be deadly if a bird gets snared in it. You could always tie multiple jingle bells on about a dozen pieces of rope and bunch them and hang. Most birds that love bell sounds love jingle bells.
