This is not MBS! I just pulled these guys from being turned loose and the babies fed to rats! I will be looking for good homes for them ASAP! They are hand tame!

These photos are enough to give anyone MBS! Aren't they beautiful?

Turn the adults loose and feed the babies to rats? That's beyond disgusting.

David, Thank you for rescuing these little guys before it was too late. Thank you so much.

Look at the precious little things! David, you're a saint to have rescued them! I agree, that is beyond awful what the people were planning on doing. Don't you want to keep just one?

Not to be dramatic, but I really loose it over stuff like this! They still have a Quaker that they think of as a 'thing'! This poor little guy has a splayed leg that is a good 45 deg off and has learned to compensate for it! (Depending on age, can be corrected!) We may be picking him up, I hope, soon!

Tough! My JoJo was raised with lovebirds, you would not believe what today was like with him, he has been singing, whistling, whatever, since he saw them on the back porch!
He sat on my shoulder for 20 minutes, either thanking me for bringing them home, or, trying to convince me he is my only love!

This story is a heartbreaker in every way, David. Enough to make any decent person loose it. Julie and I are trying to control our keyboards here, lest we say something unbecoming a moderator.

If I was anywhere close, I'm afraid my MBS would get the best of me.

When will you know about the Quaker?

You said it Allee!!

Good luck finding those little cuties a good home!

What I am thinking about the former owners is a violation of forum rules as well as some other rules I try really hard to follow. Why in the sam hill would someone encourage breeding just to do that.

On a positive note they are beautiful. Its a good thing I dont live close to you.

Just so that you know those are called Orange Faced Lovebirds, I used to raise them too. The red ones would be called Peach Faced. I know it's weird how they call the red ones Peach Faced.

Where are you located David? I am interested in a baby. I am looking for a quaker but havnt had any luck finding a young hand fed

Update.
The four adults are now with the folks at Irish Trails, a feed and grain store. The owners have a real passion for parrots, and always have an assortment of rescues they are working with!
The babies came along beautifully, feathered in so quickly from the plucking, love Roudybush!
Just left here today with some local, wonderful folks, both hubby and wife have quite a bit of experience with birds. Their son has been wanting lovebirds for over a year, and the parents were making him work toward getting them! Major surprise for him when he came home from school today, I am sure!
We literally had people standing in line for the babies, most of them, meh!
When my daughter spoke to these folks, it was a very simple decision!

That's great news, David! I bet the new parront was thrilled when he got home from school.
