
They are used for hanging clothes, clipping books and whatnot. I have 2 sets of wooden pegs laying around at home and I want to use them for my parrot. I have one set of small pegs (5cm) and one set of medium sized (8cm).
Are they safe? With a bit of googling, I can assume that they would be safe if the wood is untreated. But how would I know? If the pegs are really clear and shiny does that mean they are treated? And of course there is always a possibility that the parrot will somehow get stuck in the metal wires holding them together but you can remove those.
I can straight up just clip them on the bars of the cage or deconstruct them to make some kind of a ladder. I even saw a cool idea like this one:

So what are your thoughts about using wooden pegs for making toys?
