Working On Being Nice

Today, we worked on Buddy and Husband spent a few minutes together. As you can see Buddy sat on Husband, I was sitting next to them. Buddy was fine, he's good for the camera. But as Murphy would have it, when I "head rub", and reached over to his head to touch him, he bent his head forward, but came towards me, took a couple of steps and went into bite mode and hit Husband's jeans. It was one of those moments that you see everything happen in super slow motion and the rush of relief because Buddy bit the fly of his jeans and then jumped on my hand. He's a turkey.

At dinner, Buddy was trying to get Husband to share his dinner with him. No brownie points Buddy. I was surprised that he was cooing to Husband for food. After dinner I took Buddy to shower and this is where I really was surprised. He was singing and cooing, put beak against my cheek and "purring", whistling, almost snuggling. Yes I got nervous with him so close to my face so I turned him under the water and he went to spreading his wings, singing loud and we got out. Some good progress with others today, Husband and I work a little each week with Buddy.

Congrats! I have to admit when I saw I thread titled "working on being nice" my instant thought was, "hm, me too, but I am not sure it is working!" Of course yours is about a bird, and mine is about me, but it made me smile
