worst weekend ever.... RIP my sweet Verde girl

those who have seen me puttering around, would know we bought Verde girl home with us last weekend.

we packed up our dogs and Verde abd traveled 3 hrs to my best friend house for surprise engagement proposal. arrived yesterday morning. put Verde in her travel cage with pegs on each door, closed the room she was in, left window open. we all Sat outside that window chatting.didn't hear her dog somehow open door pull cage off tall dresser, take Verde out and kill her.
I'm so upset and beside myself. I was already attached to my girl as she was to me. my husband wrapped her and her "bits" up for me so I can bury her tonight at home.

I feel so empty abd husband has arranged to visit a pineapple baby on the way home. not necessarily to buy but I just need to see and feel happy live Bird.
I'd never had animal die so cruelly before. only old age abd birth defect and both died in my arms feeling loved.
I'm bit at odds what to do, feel out of the Bird feeding abd playing routine

thank you ask for your kind words.

we just got home and I will bury my girl this week. we decided to put her in a pot with a chilli plant, they were her favourite.

we went to visit the pineapple baby -- biting little monster haha. but I did meet a lovely little cinnamon girl, who is part acrobat part fruit bat haha

hubby bought her for me and I just hope I'm ready for this. she may be similar color too Verde but personality is so different. very outgoing, chatty, playful and loves hanging upside down. so very different to my snuggle bug <3

so I guess my conure adventure starts again!
