would these be safefor birds to chew

I was at Publix the other day and they had bamboo woven paper plate holders on sale for 1.50 for 4 of them .I thought they might make a good toy base ,you could tie anything you wanted to them then hang from the cage or tie to the side . They don,t look like there is any kind of finish on them so I thought they could have fun chewing and unraveling them. Any thoughts on this?

Bamboo is completely safe as longings it was cleaned and sundried, as well as pesticide and finish free. We cut down bamboo from a wild forest for erins fodder trough.

Make sure it doesn't have that weird green coating/chemical/paint on it though
