So I've had Yara for a few months now and we are working on bonding. You can see that we are coming along. :) I love her. I am working on her letting me touch her. She won't let me pet her yet but I know that I'm getting close. I just keep pushing a little each time we hang out. I know that she will be my cuddle bug soon.

I just wanted to share her pretty face :)

She's really pretty and you can tell that she likes knawing on you. :32:
Hopefully it won't be long before she just up and cuddles with you.

You might be moving to slow with this one. It looks to me like she wants to play in this one. A lot of times they are waiting for you to instigate the games. I bet she might if you did...

She's already got most of her adult head colors. How old is she. Sweepea didn't have that much red on her head until she was nearly 3 years old. How old is your bird?

Yesterday she finally allowed me to give her scritches...

She's three years old. It was a process to get to the scratching point and she's still unsure but this was a huge moment!

She makes the purr sound too!

My redfront is actually my only "purchased" bird. I got her from a breeder in San Diego, just off hand feeding.

She rode home from the breeders on my shoulder, pressing her whole body up against my head, leaning her head on top of mine.

I haven't had any of these issues with mine, nor have I ever rehabbed an RFM.

The two people around here I know that have them, have birds that are remarkably similar to mine. Calm. Will go to anyone, will absolutely play with anyone. Love everyone. Rolly/polly lap birds... with a feisty side.

The "redfront roll" is something that you really do need to experience first hand to understand.

Sounds like this bird is on his way to being that for you.

Yara was rehomed to me by a member of another forum. She's definitely a bit on the nervous side but I think she will grow out of it as I expose her to more and more. It will take time and we have plenty of it. :)
