I recently attended a Parrot Care Class and learned that if you are going into pet shops, bird fairs or any other environment where birds are you really should do the following: When you return home you should take off the clothes you were wearing and shoes and wash them with a disinfectent before entering anywhere the bird or birds are in your home.
Also if you buy any toys where other birds are to clean them off too before giving to your bird.

I thought it was important to share this information with the forum members. Thanks SB:grey:

I totally agree - being on the disinfectant mission I think that it is a very good point. They do the same with the horse yards where you cant enter a specific point without disinfecting. Like I have said to you SB, wish they had those groups in my area.

Ecclipse and SB.... Great info ladies
The day we got Mishka, we were not allowed in the breeders quarters.
He explained why, just as you mentioned ..... as well as any toys etc you buy ALWAYS clean first.
Take care
