Other than chewing up everything they can get their beak on? What is the favorite thing your bird enjoys? For Zack, it is going to his (metal) mirror and getting nose to nose with his reflection and just chattering away at it! I don't know if it is because he thinks there is another bird in his territory or just congratulating himself on how awesome he looks!

Let's hear yours.....

Actually, Kiwi isn't much of a chewer (even during his breeding season), so that would rank pretty low for him. His favorite activity would probably be eating, but what zon doesn't love love love food? I guess for non-food related activities, he would probably be torn between baths and car rides. He just *loves* bath time, so much in fact his DAILY morning shower is never enough, and he will give himself a little birdbath in his water dish every afternoon:eek: Then theres the car. If you ask him if he wants to go in the car, he starts running circles in his cage he's so darn excited. While driving, every one of his absolutely hilarious happy noises comes out. He just does his fluffing up and shaking his tail and making these noises the whole time your driving. When we moved and drove hallway across the country, we worried he would be traumatized. Nope, he acted as thought he must've been the luckiest bird on earth to spend 3 solid days in the Uhaul watching the world go by.

jakiepoo's favorite thing to do,,, anything that includes hanging out with me.

same for max... he's still in the clingy please don't leave me phase...

Ivory has a new favorite playhouse.... Max's cage!! And she loves to swing on her rings, hang upside down and be silly!

Silas loves swinging in the aviary. I have an empty cocount shell which is hung up with chain. he holds onto the chain (upside down) and swings around. he'll flap his wings causing him to spin and he looks like a ballerina going around really fast.

eventually he'll fly off, but he does this quite regularly

I would have to put showering with me at the top of the list :)

My two Amazon's favorite activity is watching me through the window as I do the farm chores. Round penning a horse? They'll gladly add verbal cues to confuse the horse. Planting flowers? They entertain you with various whistles, calls and so forth. Have visitors? They'll embarrass you any way they can. I had a rather um..robust woman stop by for chicken eggs. Louise whistles while Barney tells her 'she's a big gal!' (I said that to a large draft mare who stayed one night). Since the weather is warm and the windows are open there was no denying whom Barney was talking to. ;)

Percy's favourite activity apart from eating, is shredding his kabob every aftewrnoon. It is also food related (of course!) but he doesn't really eat it. I thread raw butternut, spinach stalks, corn on the cob, carrot slices, the seed ball thingy inside a bell pepper, a fat chilli, apple slice, etc onto a SS scewer and hang it in his cage around midday. He goes wild when he sees me coming with it (even fell right off his perch in his excitement once) and starts ripping into it even before its attached to the cage! He literally only eats a few corn bits and the seeds from the bell and sweet peppers. The rest gets ripped up and scattered all over his cage floor. Its funny - he will eat lightly cooked butternut, carrot, etc but when it is raw, it is meant for playtime :D. Also, if I tie one slice of corn on the cob to his cage bars, he will eat every piece of corn off it but on the scewer, he just plays with it.

His other favourite thing is biting clothing. I don't know what it is but he will spend a long time chewing the seams on my clothing but he never rips through it. Its like he just enjoys the texture. I even made him a cage buddy so that he would do his nibbling to the buddy but that's not good enough. It has to be clothing ON a human body.

my caique loves the tags on my shirts. she'll try and climb into my shirt biting the tags. it feels quite nice as her furry little body is rubbing against my neck whilst she burrows into my shirt

I'd have to say playing with their toys is a pretty high priority on their "things to do today" list.

Robin is content to just chew on plastic chain, or hard plastic toys. He will just sit there in one spot for HOURS gnawing on plastic chain. Everyday for many years... He never gets tired of it. If a piece of .50 cent plastic chain was all he had for the rest of his life I think he'd be happy. He has many other toys but will only OCCASIONALLY use them.

Raven constantly wants toys. Whether he's out on the stand, or with me, or in his cage, he's always looking for a toy.

I literally lost it after reading that- like tears rolling down my face, hysterical laughter. And they say parrots can't speak in context:20: Poor lady, she must've been so embarrassed having the bird poke fun at her.

Funny, Snoopy reacts exactly the same way to a car ride. She does the same thing in a boat -- LOVES it! As far as her daily routine, her favorite thing is to greet my husband (still in bed) in the morning, and then run around on the bed while he drinks his coffee. She checks every wrinkle in the sheets, tries to climb up the pillows to chew the headboard, and harasses the dogs who are also on the bed (and who pretty much ignore her). The only way I can get her (willingly) off the bed is to tell her breakfast is ready.

Which brings up a question. Snoopy almost never chews on wood of any kind in or on her cage. But let her near a piece of furniture and it's Katie-bar.the-door. 'Splain me that!

Who is snoopy? several of my amazons LOVE to ride in the car, unless it gets dark, then they want their cage. Fuss, fuss, fuss. Stop the car, put them in their cage ,they're happy. Well ,almost happy, after dark ,they want to be home.

Ekko's current obsession is a toy that Jen sent him. It is a ball that is covered with fleece, and has shredded ends. He plays with it all day, every day since he got it...rolls on the floor with it, growls and whispers to it..I have never seen him love a toy so much:)

Eating and destroying his edible perch. We call Buddy the green pig. Great thread!

Ha.
Lokis favorite activity besides being on my shoulder or chest is EATING. She loves to eat, and gets REALLY into her food.
Wingnuts favorite activity is chewing on me.
Knuckles favorite activity is trying to preen any skin she can on my body. It's annoying and I think she needs a new hobby, like chess or something.

With both my amazons, it's sitting outside in the tree out in front of my house. Sally goes to her spot about 3/4 of the way up the tree. Lila stays on the lower branches closer to me and Tusk...

Mango and Kiwi both love shower time. Mango though relishes it more. His first shower, using our kitchen sink faucet, he was so enamored that he dove head first into the water! Well, he soon found out that was not the smartest thing.

They also both have a hanging castle, a cardboard box made just for them hanging from the ceiling. They love hanging out in there :)

I would have to say my doolies favorite activity would be chasing paper towel rolls on the floor....or beating up anything cardboard related,he loves everything cheese and junk food, something his last owner did to him and loves talking really loud when your on the phone lol
