I think Pete had a nightmare

Last night right before I went to bed I heard him fluttering his wings and making this sound I've never heard before, but it sounded like he was in distress. Of course it scared me thinking he might be sick or injured, especially with all the blood feathers that have been coming in. I uncovered him and he was displaying, which he doesn't do very often. He was physically fine though. I inspected him all over. So I don't know if something scared him or he had a bad dream. It wasn't what I have seen before in birds having night frights where they fall to the bottom of the cage and flap around all over screeching. He was still on his top perch.

I just remembered now what Rowdy said while it was happening, because she said it again after I finished disinfecting her cage this morning. She said, "Well, that was something else." She has been quite funny lately saying new things.

He could have heard a noise from outside that had him scared. I know we didn't have much snow here all winter (yes, that is strange) and the skidoos have been going full blast day and night lately with the foot and a half we got the other day. The noise from those machines is something that even woke me up in the middle of the night because it was so unfamiliar this winter.

You just never know what they hear, see or smell. Hopefully it won't happen again.

And ya, Rowdy is too cute!

He has had to adjust to different vehicles here. The first time he saw a combine he jumped off the perch. But, the other day he was laughing at ATVs going by. I think he would like to ride on one

I did wonder if he saw (or heard) something. I didn't hear it, but that doesn't mean he didn't. Last night he was fine though, as usual. I will probably never know, but that sound he made was so awful, I hope I don't hear that ever again. I first thought he was dying!

I wish I could remember what Rowdy said a few days ago. I meant to post about it, and then forgot what she said:54: It was something like, "Be careful with that." But, I can't remember for certain. Later that day I tripped and she said, "You're alright." Sometimes I feel like she understands everything I say.

Poor guy.PAco had one night fright since we had him.It was the first week and I think the heater came on and he freaked out.

Last night I kept hearing him giggling. The first time was around 10, and then later, maybe around midnight. He's never made any sounds before once he was covered. I wonder what on earth he's doing in there!

My conure often talks in her sleep, but Pete has always been quiet until recently. He giggled again last night, but that was my fault. I was reading a funny story on another forum, and I started to crack up. I covered my mouth with my hands and tried not to actually make any noise, but I must have, because then he was giggling as well.
