help! amazon parrot wings dark after mite spray

Hi. I'm keeping a friend's amazon for a few months. ..and she told me to spray the bird with mite and lice spray. Ive done so a few times over the last week or so.... tonight I sprayed him and within about 10 min. I noticed that his wings are brown....I'm very worried..... help....any advice or info?

I know this sounds stupid,but by now enuff time has passed. Whenever I spray my bluefront amazon his feathers change color until he completely dries.Hopefully that is what happened .It can take awhile to get completely dry. If u get a chance let me know if that was the issue plz tnx:green:

Wet feathers do change colors...

My concern though, is why is the amazon being sprayed with the stuff? Although not impossible, it is rare for the larger parrots to get mite or life infestations on them unless they are housed around small species that frequently get them.

I'd ask the owner why are they using that spray? If it's for prevention , it's completely unneccessary and harmful . If the bird has had mites in the past then treatment should be limited to Vet's orders. Of course from your short post we know very little about your situation.
