iam thinking of getting a red lored amazon that i have been offered,i have know of the bird for some time and someone i know had it when i first saw the bird it would come to the cage bars and lower its head and allow you to stroke it.ive been again today but does not do this anymore and really moves away but will stand at times just looking but does not make any attempt to bite or squawk at you so i would expect to get her back to as she was quite easily my problem is i already have an orange winged amazon and although in different cages they are in the same room.what im concerned about is obviously the noise issue, and progress with each bird individually in the presence of the other.has anyone experienced this before regards jack.

For me personally I use the 45 day quarantine period to work on the trust/bonding/taming issues, any new arrivals are housed in a seperate part of the home away from all my other birds, if your able to do this it may make your job a bit easier to accomplish your goal, as for noise, birds of a feather flock together, they also squawk together as well, if one sounds off its pretty certain they all will, hard to say definately, but the odds are stacked in that direction, good luck, let us know how you make out :)

yes i will let you know how i get on,at the moment i dont have a noise issue as all the birds are fairly quiet my concern was getting another amazon if they start shouting to each other as at the moment the current birds dont do this so im hoping this will continue regards jack

Both my birds are rehomed rescues. Samantha, Umbrella Cockatoo (HD: 2002)
Lucky, B&G Macaw (HD: 1990-ish?)
My U2 is well known for making some noise. When she starts screaming, my macaw will get somewhat vocal, but she normally makes this gobbling sound or she starts talking (says, "what?" or "Hello" or "Alright!"). Thankfully now screaming (when she screams, she can set off car alarms!
