How worried should I be?

Gadget my IRN is still under 6 months old and over the past month we've been getting along wonderfully. She's getting cuddly and is happily talking to me.

Tonight though, for the second time, she went for a fly and crash dived (she has a clipped wing) and after she crashed began throwing up. I've seen her do this once before but this time it was much worse.

She ate quite a bit for dinner so is it just that she over-filled her crop or could there be something else going on here?

I'm hoping she stops trying to fly soon because I cringe every time she has a bad landing. I'm know her body language for when she is about to fly unfortunately tonight as I went to get her off my shoulder she jumped

Any thoughts or suggestions for the two of us?

The overfilled crop with the exertion of flight/crash landing would be my guess as to her vomiting as well. My mitred conure did the same (minus the crashing part), and he was fine afterwards. He checked out fine at the vets. Birds are supposed to be lightweight when they fly, so I can see how having too much food in the crop may cause problems.

Wouldn't hurt to call up an avian vet to double check.

If your IRN wants to fly, then perhaps you could encourage flight to you prior to eating by teaching the come command? Don't know if it would help but it might discourage trying to fly after eating.

She shouldnt just have one wing clipped, both wings need to be evenly clipped or else they WILL crash. After a clip your bird should be able to safely glide to the ground. You may need to get someone who knows how to clip to even her up a little bit.

Yes, please get her clipped evenly and by someone with experience in doing so. It is possible to clip her so that she can glide and control her fall so that she does not get hurt.
