The past few days Alcatraz has been soooo moody. He hasn't wanted to be held much and he has gone into attack mode a few times - pupils dilated, head bobbing, ready to lunge.

I took him in to have his nails trimmed and was told this is typical behavior for Spring. When will my cuddly bird be back?

Know what u mean. Rosie is very nippy now. Parrots frustration levels are high when the days are longer. We can only understand and wait it out.

Do all parrots do this? What happens if you turn the lights on at night and always go to bed at the same time so the days seem the same length all year? Will they still do it?

Good question. Yes it helps to avoid the changes in the length of daylight if you cover your bird at the same time all year long. However, this is not natural and it could lead to even more frustration.
