Hey, I'm looking for a cockatiel.

Can you guys point me to a reputable aviary that breeds cockatiels?
I'm in the Chicagoland area, but pricing and shipping isn't really an issue, especially if they really care about their birds and who their birds are going to.

Some more info...
I'm no newbie, but the breeder I used to go to before has retired and I can't get into contact with her. So I'm here because word of mouth tends to be more reliable than website listings.
I've contacted a lot of breeders in the past few days and most of them don't ask questions or seem not to care who they could be potentially selling a baby bird to and that concerns me.

Check shelters and rescues! Cockatiels are given up like crazy!
Good luck in your search.

I'm sorry but I'm just looking for a breeder. I would go to a rescue if I were looking for a cockatoo because those poor birds really are given up like crazy.

There's Birdman's Parrots in the Chicago area. They raise a variety of species, including cockatiels. They're on the pricier side but they're all hand fed and look healthy. I haven't visited the store personally or talked to the breeder but I may get in contact with them in the future. It looks like they have three (realllllly cute!) baby cockatiels available at the moment.
