Hi I have Bred Rosellas most of my Life.
I am after some answers to Mutations.

Pure Eastern Rosella Hen breeding with a Opaline Eastern Red ****
will the Bubs Come out as a mixture of Opaline or just splits
also what if it was Opaline Hen & pure EASTERN male any difference?
Or does both Parents need to be split to Opaline Red?

Opaline is a sex-linked mutation; hens cannot be split for sex-linked mutations - they have to visually show it (acts the same as with Cinnamon, etc.). To get visual sex-linked mutation male chicks both parent birds either have to be visually showing the mutation, or a visual hen and split male.

OPALINE MALE X OPALINE HEN

**Breeding 2 Opalines together will result in all Opaline chicks in the nest (unless there are other mutations present).**

Yes, sorry! I forgot to add that one in there!
All the visual Opalines you get will be hens, but you'll still get visual Normal hens and males
