Well first off you need to make sure it is fully weaned. Handfeeding is not a easy thing to do. It can be quite dangerous. I know you said it's almost weaned but unless I'm missing it becasue I'm so tired you dind't imply that they were going to finish him off.
Then you need to quantine him away from Trevi. for at least 30-60 days.

i got trevi when she was really tiny, and she was not weaned... so am sure i will be able to handle it :)
by quarnting u mean no contact or keep them in seperate rooms?? i am asking this because i have heard that there are some air bone diseases in birds too....

I'd keep them in separate rooms with no contact and plenty of hand washings.
Especially if this is a breeder you don't know/haven't dealt with before. Bring the new one to the vet as soon as you can, if you can, and then you can be reassured of the new babies health.
When the time comes to introduce them, just go slow.. maybe just bring them in the same room but have some distance between them. Make sure you show Trevi a lot of attention so she doesn't get jealous. I'd do this for a few days and then just gradually go closer.. bring the other cage in the room. See how it goes.. put the cages close to each other so they can chat through the bars and decide to become either friends or mortal enemies. :D

thanks :)

trevi is a very jealous girl... when she is with me and someone touches me she attacks that person mercilessly.... so i gues i will have to be very carefull... however at times i feel that she will enjoy the company of other birds..all she wants to do is kiss me and bite my nose ring (yeooouuch)
