I have a camp about 40min away from home. We go there from April til around the end of Sept. Anywhere from 2-3 weekends a month and usually a week in July. Kia LOVES it up there. She does well on my daughters lap for the ride, we dont put her in a carrier, she just holds her. She has a cage up there and a playstand on the screened in porch. I havent taken Paco up there yet. My son usually has to work so he's been ale to stay at home with Paco when we go. I want to be able to take him up with us, Im just so afraid of stressing him out. He's still so nervous all the time. Im afraid if I move him I will lose what little progress Ive made with him. Is it better for me just to leave him home? Or should I try to take him? Any thoughts?

Given the extent of Paco's issues, I'd try and leave him at home if you're able to have your son successfully care for Paco. At least for this year. Maybe next year, once you've established some trust, he may be more able to handle those types of changes. I know Sugar doesn't like change of any kind, some birds are like that. Paco may just need some absolute stability for the time being, it sounds like, with him still being nervous. Sugar still spooks quite easily :(

Thanks Kathrine, I agree with you. I feel bad about leaving him when I do go, but I really think it would scare the heck out of him. He's still really nervous and I dont want to do anything to make it worse. For now my son will take care of him!
