Concussion in a parakeet URGENT

My parakeet recently ran into a window and she looked like she has a concussion, and after reading up about it, im worried that my little baby has brain bleeding

(( she is eating, drinking and perching well, but she is just tired. If anyone knows if she has a brain bleed or not, please tell me and if yes, tell me what to do

Keep an eye on her for the next few days. If she doesn't bounce back (stops eating, drinking acting normally), a trip to an avian vet will be best -- a professional will be bale to determine if there is any damage and if she'll be okay.

I lost a cockatiel baby exactly the same way a couple years ago. She hit hard and did not make it through. It was so devastating. I always make sure now to keep curtains on the windows drawn when birds are out and show the birds the exposed glass by tapping on it and showing them what it is.

Keep you bird quiet. Keep the house quiet. Takes a bit to recover. Don't let them out for at least a couple of days after looking and acting normal. Put a towel on the bottom of the cage incase of falls. Your bird might go to the bottom of the cage for a couple of days, so be prepared to put food and water on the bottom of the cage. Use a very shallow water container like a lid so no drowning. Don't sit by the cage staring at them, you don't want more stress after the accident. Good luck. I once had a bad head injury in my bird, and at that time and in my specific account the vet told me not to bring the bird in, as the additional stress might kill her, and that all they would do ( which can be very Valuable) was to put them in a heated and oxygen rich cage. So if you can keep your house warmer for a few days might help.

I just checked up on her, she is fluffed up and closing her eyes, but I jut woke her up. I'll see if she will run around and things soon

I just took her out and shd is eating slowly, drinking lots of water just fine, but she stays puffed up. She walks a bit more to my other birds and her eyes most of the time are closed.

Very sorry to know your parakeet was injured. How much progress have you seen in the roughly 12 hours since the event? If the same or little better, a visit to a certified avian vet might be best. While there are few diagnostic tools available (unlike with humans) anti-inflammatory drugs may be prescribed. As others posted, calmness and quiet is best. If you see slow but at least steady improvement with reasonable appetite and activity, recovery may take time and hopefully be complete.

Within 48 hours, she is making a speedy recovery, unfortunately, the nearest avian vet around me doesn't do birds for 3 weeks. The other ones are too far away and I don't have a car. So I hope my baby will be okay!!

Glad to hear of a speedy recovery! Prognosis seems favorable, please don't rush things. Lots of TLC and hopefully all will be well.
