I want to buy a small travel cage for Penny for when I go to my parents' house on the weekends and breaks from school. I've been looking around at different options, and I found one I think I like, but I have a question about the bar spacing. Here is a link to the cage: Bird Carrier for Small Birds to Medium Parrots – Prevue 1305

Is 3/4" bar spacing okay for a crimson bellied conure? Her permanent cage has 5/8" and I just want to make sure the larger bar spacing is okay before I buy it. Thanks!

It might be cutting it close. I can't be certain not having that size conure myself though. I actually even have 5/8 on the amazon and grey cages, too. Not because they would get their heads stuck, but because it helps keep the cat from reaching in.

Will you be taking her anywhere that there is a cat?

Yes, we do have cats, but I'll be keeping her in my bedroom with the door shut. I'm still not too sure about the bar spacing though.... Perhaps I'll try to find a different one that isn't too expensive.

Well, she can't get her paw into the 5/8 bar spacing. So the worst she can do is put her paws and nose up against the bars until the bird runs her off. A couple weeks ago my conure's tail was sticking out though and she did try to swat at it.
