My Quaker parrot's cage has a loose bar, and he's figured out how to stick his head out of it. I need to know if there's a quick, safe fix. I can't afford a new cage right now, and I can't leave him alone because he gets stuck within seconds of nee leaving the room.

Have you tried looking on craigslist for a used one? They're generally pretty reasonable off there. Or your other solution would be to tie the bar somehow.
