I have adopted a 5 year old white bellie. He is so much fun, I love him already. I am learning some of his problems. He doesn't like it when we have alot of people over, he screams alot then. He also doesn't play in his cage, I have put every kind of toy that is out there in there and he doesn't touch any of them. He plays alot out side of his cage, but nothing when he is in the cage.
Any suggestions with these problems would be helpful.

He's just not used to the crowd. That's part of the reason why I do not bring my macaw around crowds, he freaks out. I have tried many times, he just doesn't like it. He lets me know real quick too!!! I don't like to be in a crowd anyway so that works for me.... You can take care of that problem by socializing him, but for now it needs to be one on one time between you two until he learns to trust you completely.

I have a ton of toys in my ekkie's cage but they don't really play with them. But on their play stand, they start shredding toys like no tomorrow. I don't see it as a problem when they don't play with their toys inside their cage. My too never played with her toys in her cage before I upgraded her cage to a glass cage. She shreds toys within a hr now. She does the same thing on the play stand too.

Welcome to the forum, post some picture of your new baby! :)

Thanks for your help. I guess him not playing in his cage isn't really I problem, I just feel bad for him, I want him to be happy in his cage and have a good time.
I had people over again today for Easter, he was a little better he started screaming after dinner. I put him in his cage when he won't stop screaming it doesn't stop him from screaming, but I don't no what else to do with him. When he stops screaming I take him out. But it takes a long time for him to stop screaming.
I'm not used to this as my sun only screams once in while when she is in her cage, if she is out of her cage she is a doll.
Hopefully this will get better as during the summer months we have several picnics at my house.
