Hey guys! So my roommate brought home a lost cockatiel last night. She is adorable- light gray and white and super quite and friendly and I need to know where to report her missing so that she can find her owner or what to do. Let me know! Thanks
Craigslist. Kijiji. Local vet offices and pet stores. Grocery stores...
Say something along the lines of "Found small grey/white bird, please call to identify" or something like that. Ask for quirks, behaviors, words, etc the bird may know.
When you do post it don't post pictures! Let people send you a picture to see if they match! Plus for the time being keep the tiel far far away from your existing bird!
Thanks guys! I posted on a ton of different sites. I said I found a cockatiel in arizona, phoenix area and to call and describe it if they are looking for one. If anyone calls I am going to ask for specific coloring, banded or not, color of flight wings, gender if they know it, picture etc. to make sure its not just someone trying to get a free cockatiel.
I have kept Lukah and the tiel far apart so far, they've just seen eachother from a distance, but my roommate took it to the vet today. The vet said the tiel looks healthy and my roommate payed to have bloodwork done to check for chlamydia or any other diseases. We will know on Wednesday if the tiel has anything and also a definite on its gender! Would it be okay to introduce the tiel and Lukah to eachother after the bloodwork comes back?
It just depends on specifically what they're checking for, but chlamydia is one of the ones they do check most of the time. Your gonna have to consult the vet about that!
