What are peoples solutions to night frights for your 'tiels? My son's bird Ghost is in her 1st year moult and getting night frights. If the other birds in the house make a sound of an evening she gets set off. I'm concerned she will break a blood feather.

I used to use a night light for my 'tiels before I moved to where I am now which worked great as that's all I had. Now I have a mixed group of birds with cages close to each other. Looking for a solution that won't disturb the other birds but will help alleviate the 'tiels night frights.

can you cover your other birds and leave your cockatiel uncovered so the night light can be used?

My cockatiel is very susceptible to night frights, the only solution I’ve found is a night light. We have six other parrots, none of them need a nightlight but the one we keep on for the tiel doesn’t seem to bother her neighbors. Maybe try a small night light near your tiel’s cage. I hope you find a happy solution, night frights are awful.

Unfortunately I can't cover everyone else and leave the cockatiel uncovered. Will have to go with the night light again and the others will have to adapt.

My cockatiel’s night light is very dim but it’s enough to cure the night frights, if that works for your tiel, hopefully your other birds won’t mind too much.

Amy a Blue Front 'Zon
Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
BB used to get night frights before his house was covered. Now that his "Uncle David" bought him and Amy "Cozy Covers" it has stopped. The covers are black and let air flow thru but are very dark inside. ( I put Amys over my head just to check once lol) Both fids seem to really like them, they quiet right down and get a good nights sleep.
