Mana the manic female galah; yet to be named male corella
I'm off to collect my new baby in about half an hour. :)
My little corella, or bare-eyed cockatoo to Americans :)
Its a boy and I still haven't seen any photos LOL I will upload some when I get him home, wish me luck LOL The roads between here and where I am picking him up from have been affected by the storms and floods so hopefully they are drivable :D

I'm so excited (and nervous). Hoping they will be great friends (and nothing more! Which is also worrying me). Also worried about them calling to each other being in different rooms, I wonder how my nerves will hold up over the next month LOL

Photos to come!! :D

So ridiculously cute :) As I feared, they are answering each other across the house LOL Where are my earplugs? Its mostly Mana who is giving me a headache... Corellas are loud for sure but they don't have that ear piercingly high pitched contact call.

LMP, I can't figure out a name, once again LOL So he will end up being called Unicron LOL

Lee, There is a bunch of road works, but mostly a lot of sunday drivers LOL
You know the type that do 60 in a 100 zone and then whenever an overtaking lane comes up they speed up again? Yeah, them LOL

The quality of the roads is a bit dodgy in some places, if you go up there taking the d'agular highway, be careful of some patches that have had the road base washed off. It isn't a huge problem if you slow down but the problem is others aren't slowing down, especially trucks.

He is so dirty.
He doesn't know what toys are or bowls (and is afraid of them).
He has never seen a proper window in his life.
Or a tv.
Everything is very scary to him at the moment. He still hasn't eaten anything because all the bowls I have are too scary! I might need to go out tomorrow and get him a stainless steel bowl. His leg band is also very open and pinches his skin :(

I took some more photos of him with my camera instead of my phone.

He loves showing off his wings, he also hides his face under his wing and runs his face along his wing feathers.

And can't forget the cheeky pink chicken... she has been trying to get to the corella all day long. She threw the biggest tantrum today when my partner was leaving. Screaming and flapping her wings and asking desperately if he wanted a scratch LOL
I put her on her playgym and she settled instantly.

Yep! Everyone is tested clear for PBFD and psittacosis :D Manny ended up being a girl LOL and is now named Mana :) Her wing has come along in leaps and bounds as well. She is a very very very temperamental galah. Very very very vocal LOL She is lucky she found a patient home :D We have become accustomed to the noise. Though her high pitched call can get on my nerves when I have a headache.

Oh and she is an amazing talker. She has an enormous vocabulary. I wasn't expecting it out of a galah let alone a female galah.

Sorry...Ms Mana the pinky chicken....lol....I'm glad she's doing well, did you ever move her to her own room? I know Java's scream can drive me nuts when I'm having a headache too....

Im hoping to make the front room the bird room. :D The corella has regressed so I will be giving him some handfeeds... I got him to eat with some soaked pellets and oats on a spoon. He is also being very loud when he has to go to bed so to save our sanity he is currently in the front room screaming his lungs out (its 6:45pm here). He can fly but clearly has very little flying practice, he has run into walls and doors a few times already.

I can't catch a break with birds LOL The breeder really wasn't... what I was expecting. If there are breeders/handrearers in the S/E qld region who would meet my expectations I would love to know of them (if anyone has recommendations?)
