SB and her cat and bird will be moving in May. I want to make it as stress free as possible for my critters. Especially Rosie. I am not in a position to have the cage set up ahead of time so she will ride in her see through carrier that has a perch. I imagine putting them in a room where the movers will not be seen by Rosie may help and placing a cover on the carrier. Oh boy it is a drastic change in my life because the word retirement is in this too. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks all

Congrats on the retirement! I'm dreading a move soon too just hoping that Pepper realizes it's a good deal for her as well and doesn't totally freak out.

i also moved recently, i think putting Rosie in the carrier and be near would be ok. everything's going to be ok don't worry. Rosie will be fine.

I've had to move a couple times with Auggie - once across the country. It is stressful - or at least it was for me, but he was fine.

As long as you're around to reassure her she'll do great. Depending on how the two of you will be traveling, covering her travel cage with a dark sheet can make it less stressful.

Thanks AD. I think even the beginning of packing things in boxes is bothering her. Rosie must picture her environment in flux. I wil do all the one on one and music she loves to help her deal with the changes. She has learned a whistle that starts out loud and decends down a few notes and then a big crash at the end. It is funny to hear. Mabye the crashing sound represents all my packing.
