On the ground that is. He seems to be getting more comfortable. Now when's he out he'll move to the floor. I was happy to see him getting away from his cage on his own but now there's new issues. He's found the dry wall. We're making him a play gym and I'll put shredding toys on it. Hoping it'll be more enticing than the stand that I made that he won't touch.

How far apart should his cage and play gym be? I have him in the main room that we're in but it's a small room. There's really not much room for a play gym. I thought about putting his cage in my bedroom but he's still not too excited about my bedroom. If I put his cage in the back, every time I go outside I would need to put him in the bedroom. We have a ranch so when we go outside, it's generally for an hour or so to tend to other animals. I don't leave him or Tillie out by themselves at all. Not even for 15 minutes. We have dogs. Tillie is known for just flying to explore if she gets bored and when she takes off Jasper isn't far behind her.

It's nice to see him blossom even if it's not exactly in the direction that I was hoping.

Start with the play gym and the cage next to each other so that he can climb between the two. As his interest grows, you can move them apart.

Older Dry Wall can be dangerous for Parrots (lead content). So regardless of its age, do not allow a Parrot to chew on any Dry Wall!
