This was sort of a planned/unplanned type of thing. Originally, I was set to adopt a bird (indian ringneck) from a shelter, however, the bird was too mentally damaged for me to take him. That left me with a big empty cage looking to be filled! I spent many weeks looking to adopt without any luck. Finally, I tried a few breeders (sadly, there is /nothing/ local here), and found a place that really caught my eye!

Prim is a Pineapple Conure and when she's weaned she will be shipped to me. I have asked the breeder all kinds of questions and she seems very knowledgeable and even excited! She sends me new pictures every few days of my baby girl! She has also had 100% good luck with shipping and only ships through Westjet because of heated cargo.

I spend a good 5 hours every day watching conure videos, browsing conure forums, and setting up her new cage with hand made toys. I am afraid the next 3 weeks are going to be torture! I even made her a PVC playstand and a birdy hut!

Never been more excited!

Awww! Thanks guys! I can't stop making stuff for her. I just want her to be happy!

And Osnyder, from what I have learned about conures they are the sweetest things! I wish you all the best finding your birdy!

Anyone have any advice on favorite toys? I have a birdy den made of fleece, some fleece toys, rope toys, beads, cat bells, coffee filter toys, a mirror, a ball filled with beads.... 8D

Congrats. That little Primrose is absolutely gorgeous. My gcc likes straws best of all his toys. And believe me when I say he has heaps of toys. I just get 4-5 straws and knot them into each other - looks like a ball in the centre with sticky out tentacles (hope this makes sense)
