Con loves to nibble on my face and fingers. Her tongue has always been wet or damp and I was just wondering if that is common in parrots. What little I can find online says they shouldn't have a wet tongue. Any ideas on this? Thanks!

I'd say my birds all have rather dry tongues, unlike my cat who sometimes gives me such slobbery kisses I have a little pool of kitty saliva on my face, lol!

Thankfully my cats never give me kitty kisses. One of them just has a foot fetish and has to always be with my feet, shoes, or socks. He's a weird one lol

She has woken me up during the night putting sloppy kisses at the corner of my eye or worse, cleaning my face and neck for me.

My little female just pats at my face with her paw and if I don't wake up right away, she uses her claws. Right now I'm sporting a lovely scratch on my upper lip for not waking this morning to cuddle her. But I still love her even though she's a pain in the butt.

In my experience, birds have a different kind of saliva than we do. I've only felt wet from larger birds. Small birds don't seem to make much saliva. With all the birds I've known, none have had what you'd call "drool" saliva.

My sun normally has a damp tongue and will leave a little bit of slobber on my cheek. Nothing too wet though.
