well since i have moved a couple of months ago my conure started screeching, biting etc although still can be friendly sometimes the house we are in now compared to the old is smaller so the noise can be deafening so im going to rehome him.

a local shop (2 owners keep there own birds and take them two the shop during the day when they are there) said they would try to rehome him and if they could not they would keep him them self just wondering really if this is the best way or try to find a home myself.

he is only youngish (2 maybe 2 and a half years old of which i have had him 2 years) so i don't think they would have trouble rehoming him, and if they did then sure he would adapt to possibly living in the shop during the day (although he bites sometimes) he loves being talked to etc and loves people so all the foot traffic they get during the day.

I'm not gonna try to guilt you, but....

Would you want a friend to give up on you when you were going through something?? At 2&1/2 he could be hormonal..I know its frustrating, but its something that happens.

But if you feel its best, at least your bird will be taken care of :) sometimes you've got to do, what you've got to do :)

i get what your saying but being hormonal from what i have heard/read can take years to get past and people living in the house having a headache nearly everyday is not good.

its not the birds fault just circumstances changed and the house we live in is smaller and the main thing i want when rehoming is just to know he will be looked after

You should really consider doing trick training before re-homing him, and make sure his diet has lots of fresh veggies(especially dark leafy greens like kale, spinach, broccoli) and high quality pellets, a healthy bird feels good and is often better behaved.

I understand your situation though, I had a cockatiel who I rescued and tamed. He would scream for 20-30 minutes when I left and my brother always complained, he really didn't get enough attention as I was busy and he had to share his play time with Rosie so he didn't get a lot of one on one. I gave him to one of my best friends who also has a cockatiel so I still get to see him all the time.

Most people here post in the rehoming section, hoping someone from the forum will adopt the bird.... There's actually a lot of people here from the UK...

I think you were just telling us that you were rehoming your bird, as opposed to asking how you could keep him?
