Hello, I got a baby Pineapple Green Cheek Conure 2 days ago, she is about 12 weeks old, and she is making a loud screeching noise most of the time. I was wondering if it is because she is young and still getting used to her new home, or is there something else that could be wrong with her? She wants to be out of her cage a lot and runs back and forward screaming and wanting out, but when I let her out she still makes a noise and flys around a lot. She is making all my other birds scream as well, especially my other Green Cheek who is in the same room. What should I do?

Peanut did that for a few weeks when I got him, same age too! I put it down to him getting settled in his new home and people. I had him microchipped and sexed within 2 weeks and the vet said he was in great health. Is she hand reared? Pea was and the screaming could be down to wanting human contact but also reacts to other birds outside. He does still make lots of noise when he's shut in his cage generally down to wanting out but he's quiet when he is out

Hello, yes she was hand reared from a breeder, and she is tame and wants out of her cage a lot, but she often screams when she is out as I was saying in my previous post. She screams most of the day unless she is eating. She is also worse early in the morning and wakes me up everyday. I'm guessing it is just because she is young, but I wasn't sure so I asked. Thanks anyway.

Yeah early morning is when they are at their noisiest. Hand reared conures crave the attention of their human flock so they always want to be with us. The noise will settle in a short time
