2 Conures - Female yellow sided/green cheek & Male pineapple conure
Hey eveyone,

I have 5 baby green cheek conures (4 yellowsided, 1 pineapple) and I was just wondering at what age can I sell them. they are currecntly 10 weeks old and are flying, perching and eating seed mix and fine pellets on their own, is it to still early to sell them? I feel like they are ready to go and feel pretty good/confident in letting them go but just wanted to see what others think since this has been my first time breeding conures!

If they arent getting fed by the parents anymore its my understanding that they are ready. I have only ever had tiel babies.

No Ive been watching them the past week and the parents have no longer been feeding them and ive been seeing them in the food bowls eating from the seed mix and harrison pellets that i give them. they arent at all interested in any fruits or veggies i offer them is that normal? will the eventually realize its food and become interested in eating fruits and stuff as they become older?

How many times a day are they being hand fed?

If they are eating completely on their own with no hand-feedings from you or parent feedings, and they've fully fledged, then yes, they are ready to go as long as there are no health problems. As far as eating veggies and fruits it sometimes takes a while to get them to eat them, sometimes it doesn't. They need to be offered fresh veggies and fruits every day and eventually they will start eating them, so make sure the new owners know to offer fresh foods along with their pellets and seeds every day.

As others have said, yes if they are eating entirely on their own and not being fed at all by their parents or you, then they are ready to go to their forever homes. A good way to get them eating fruits and veggies is to get a food processor and mix a bunch up and offer it mixed with what they are eating now. You'll find some great chop recipes in the food & recipes forum.
