hurt toe

this morning i noticed something that looked like cranberry on my green cheeked conures toe, however upon looking closer under a flashlight i noticed he was injured. what should i do? my dad wants to treat it himself but i think we should go to the vet. he keeps putting it up instead of sitting on it, i had to coax him to put it down to get pictures. please help, thank you! pictures below

Sorry that your Parrot has hurt his toe.

Is it is still bleeding? Then yes to the Vet.
If the toe is physical damaged /broken, then yes to the Vet.
If the toe has an open wound, then yes to the Vet.

It is very common for a Parrot with a toe that is hurt to lift it and place it closer to their body. Better to let them do that then to attempt to force your Parrot to stand on both lets.

Be sure to go to an avian vet, not just any regular vet. Birds don't react the same way as mammals.
