After not being able to find styptic powder when I actually needed it Sunday, I decided to take that as a *hint* from the universe that I needed to organize Kiwi's stuff. It as been bothering me for quite a while now never being able to find the toy, the scraper, the you name it that isn't his cage or stand. I've actually been meaning to do this since BEFORE we moved, but I ended up shamefully just dumping all his toys in a bin and sticking the papers on top after we moved and left it instead:( Now it is *much* better though, and I can find the stuff easily, especially toy-making supplies:D

The basic layout hasn't changed, but I did move the old toy-bin under the cage for holding the cage covers (yes I took these after birdy bedtime) and the travel cage/carrier off to the side. O and of course the area under the play stand changed.... significantly:20:

Took the legs off the play stand and used (2) 3-drawer Sterlite organizers side by side:

As a comparison, this is how his stuff was 'before' (just shoved in a bin by his most lazy mommy):

And now it is sorted and labeled:

Labels were downloaded online and I filled them in. I used a 'royal' looking label for his royal featherbutt:

Small toy parts I sorted in individual containers (dollar store find!) with coordinating labels, to be kept on the windowsill:

And while it's never been out of hand, I tidied up his food tray too:

Kiwi is now officially an 'organized parrot'!

You did a great job! I was just thinking of the same thing about our bird stuff. I have them all in bags. A bag for toy parts that need to be cleaned, a bag for new toy parts and so on. Last week I went to Lowe's for an organizer I just need to sit down and do it. Thanks for the incentive.

How many times can I say WOW to your threads April?!! Lol :D

Now can you come over and do mine please?? :)

That is MOST inspiring... and I will need to get things organized after moving in a couple/few weeks anyway.

Awesome! Organizing all of PBs stuff in drawers is exactly what I want to do with her boxes of stuff! I love how you have the playstand on top of the drawers. What a great way to conserve space. Tsk tsk, now you've given me the organizer bug, but sadly I have to finish painting my living room first. At least I have more incentive now. :)

My situation is more like your "before". His shelf is divided in thirds. Papers, food, supplies and it often gets disheveled! I love the cute labels!

I would if I could!:) Too bad you don't live closer or I could totally come help. Back in AZ, I helped more than a few people I knew get stuff cleaned, organized and decorated just because I enjoy doing this kind of stuff.

I wish you lived closer too! I love it when things are neat and organized, but usually hate to do it!

Well moving will give a good opportunity for you to get those 'areas of clutter' you want organized done. I personally find clearing an area and then starting from scratch is the best way to go about organizing it. If you're moving, you'll get to start from scratch with the whole new house!:D Check out this lady for really good tips, she's one of my favorite organizers:)

O and for design ideas, I *LOVE* Rebecca Robeson. Looking at your room photos, I think you'd like her style and tips too:)
