Hey everyone tonight Mylah was eating seed in the dark as she does sometimes at bed time and she started sneezing and coughing, we went out and she was making horrible noises like she was choking and whistling when she was breathing out her nose. my husband opened her beak and we couldn't see anything, so i syringed some water down her throat and gave her something to eat. she came good but it seems that she had irritated her throat?? has anyone had this happen??

I suggest not keeping food in the cage at night? perhaps one piece was a bit to big or she didn't "chew" enough... kinda like when people don't chew enough on their food? I hope your lil birdie is feeling better

Birds do not eat in the dark naturally. As said best to only have water in the cage at night.
