I have a minature bee balm plant is it ok for my Ekkie to eat the blooms. I thought I read that somewhere. Thanks in advance

Here it is also known as horsemint or monarda. I dont know, but I wouldn't let him have it until I had a confirmation that it is of the mint family.

Monarda, or Beebalm is indeed a member of the mint family. Other names for it include Oswego Tea and Kaiser's Crown. I've found it on some "bird safe" plant lists, and have seen recommendations for feeding dried Monarda flowers to parrots-- but haven't tried offering any to Ralph yet.

Thanks. I guess you just give them the flower or do you give the leaves?

hi just to be on the safe side, are you sure there has been no fertilisers/pestisides used on the plant
