Barkley (4yo Eclectus)----
Pepper (7yo White-Capped Pionus)
Barkley has decided he knows how to open his cage and let himself out, even though we take great care to lock it. IF you don't close the food bowl right away he'll sneak out of there.

Then he also decides if you're taking to long to put the food in the dish, he'll pull it in himself to get to the goodies. Last week he was out of his cage and digging into a bag of Harrisons on the floor!

Anyone else's birds are escape artists? Or food theives?

Eclectus Female - Audrey.

Astro - Budgie.
Mini - Budgie, RIP gorgeous girl.
My bird has got out of the feed holders before. Whats even funnier is she closes it behind her so it takes me a little while to figure out how she is standing on top of the cage when the door is locked haha!

Sprite the cinnamon green cheek conure.
LOL Sprite is both! All the locks on Sprite's cage are too complicated for him to "pick" but if you don't lock a feeder door or even if the feeder door is open for 2 seconds while im getting the food to put in it, Sprites out!!
Hes also a very sneaky food thief!! Sprite is flighted and he knows his way around the house so he'll sneak into the kitchen and eat any leftover food! He knows hes not supposed to so whenever hes doing it he makes this little chirping sound, its so funny! Also, he will harass anyone eating by sneaking up on their plate and stealing food!! He knows he is not allowed to do this but he is one stubborn little guy!!

Rome is our escape artist. Rocco is our food demon. It seems to be pretty much across the board, if there is food the Ekkie will follow. Rocco has been coined the name of the green monster because of his obsession with food.

Birdie (BFA), Cloud (Lovebird)
klaus is a natural born escape artist. used to open his first cage's main gate which was
kinda easy to do. when i moved him into his new and bigger cage, i was sure he
wouldn't be able to open it. but noooo.. he somehow managed to twist one of the food
cup doors' lock thingie, push it to the side, and open up the door. it was weird at first
since i sometimes had a hard time tryna get that one lock thingie to budge.

cloud's also an escape artist. he's opened his cage door about 4 times already and
wondered about where he shouldn't have. made sure he can't do that now unless i'm
around. :)

Pepper, a Timneh African Grey
Pepper hasn't even touched the cage latch. However, food turns her into a monkey. She does her "I want it" dance on top of her cage. I got a picture of it. She does it when she wants me to pick her up too. She's tried everything we've given her with gusto. When we eat dinner sometimes we bring her over and she'll crawl down the arm to the plates and try to snatch stuff. If I hang out in the kitchen too long she'll start chirping at me.

I was shocked to find my CAG Chloe sitting on my dresser as I came back in my room with her food dish. That little brat fit through the food dish door, waddled onto my dresser, then decided to play with my earrings in the jewelry box!!! I walked back into my room and she said "Whoa..." lol BUSTED!!!!

RIP Paco, Jack, and Echo </3
Echo is a frequent escapee in my bird room. She never staying in one spot either. If you let anyone else out they stay close to where they were put...not her though! She will travel the rooms, climb curtains, raid cupboards, and...funniest of all, let all the other birds out. She LOVES to eat and when she eats oatmeal, if I'm not giving it to here fast enough, she will help herself to the entire bowl...and get it everywhere!
