Hello,

I purchased a small container of organic alfalfa sprouts from the grocery store. Are these safe to give to Jasper?

I haven't ever found any seeds to try sprouting, but figured if they're already sprouted it might be ok.

Please let me know!

I've bought organic alfalfa sprouts for my birds, they love them. I can't think of any reason why they wouldn't be safe.

Great, thank you! I had read some sites where they were saying they weren't so I wanted to double check.

Here's a link that might be interesting reading for the beginning sprouter and though I agree with most of Carolyn Swicegood's thoughts, I believe her views on grapefruit seed extract to be adulterated & suggest newbies read a forum sticky on GSE: http://www.parrotforums.com/general-parrot-information/47378-gse-grapefruit-seed-extract.html

There are other threads on the forums about grapefruit seed extract in the archives & if you search "grapefruit seed extract" instead of GSE (with or without the quotation marks) will get you the links.....the forums' search parameters need 10 characters to effect a search, instead of just 3.....
