So I took Kiwi to the groomer on Saturday. Whole way there he's in the car chit chatting away with me. Having a great time. Lovin the car ride. I get there and they take him and he looks at me like "Mom, I cannot believe you're letting them do this to me." He didn't talk to me again until Sunday night when I gave him an almond. I was out of them. I had to go to the grocery store get him almonds, just so my bird would talk to me again. Fids these days.

I always turn my back and walk away while Zilla is being groomed, then I come back and "save" her from the evil groomers! She is always glued to me for about 2 days after they dare to touch her...LOL

Okay, so we have grooming parlours for dogs here - and I have a poodle so I'm well used to those - but you take your parrots to be groomed? This is a new concept for me! What is it that they do?

Grooming a parrot in Zillas case is getting her nails clipped/filed and her wings clipped.

She showers and blow dries at home :D

Haha love it! That makes sense. My mind was going all over the place...was imagining amazons with mohawks and whatnot.....

OMG! That is my strategy! I always made my ex take the children in the room for their shots and I got to be the savior afterwards.

Oliver is good with the "groomer" but it's me...can't handle him in any discomfort so I slink away from where he's at to avoid distracting him or upsetting him...very similar to when my kids were young....
