Eclectus
Hello,

My name is Valeria and I have almost one year male eclectus parrot Luis.

We live in Finland,so now we have very short day and very long nights.

I have noticed that my boy is sleeping during the day time hiding his head.Is it normal with the healthy birds? His eating habit are normal,I can say that his appetite increased during winter time.
He is active bird, playing his toys, screaming sometimes ...He has his normal behaving. The poop doesn't smell. And I can say he is molting, his tail is a bit destroyed, but the breeder told me,that the new feather will grow.

Thank you.

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
It's called "taking a nap."

It's entirely normal.

My entire flock takes afternoon naps like this.
