Gizmo - Male Eclectus Parrot

Pebbles - Female Eclectus Parrot
So I bought some Perspex feeders to keep the food in the feeder, and not the floor, or on the opposite wall :D.

Pebbles took to the feeder straight away, and Gizmo is now comfortable with it (the first few days, I think Gizmo wasn't too comfortable with the enclosed nature of it).

So all good right, no more food at the bottom of the cage....well not exactly:rolleyes:.

Pebbles has decided some foods are takeaway foods (so far passionfruit and capsicum).

Good boy Gizmo

Pebbles......so it's a takeaway night then is it?!

Pebbles has always been the messy one, so she is obviously just keeping up her reputation, at least she can't drag the chop out....or can she:eek:

Cheers,

Cameron

LoL I think Pebbles has outwitted you :) Love the pics and the feeders are a Great idea...Mr Biggles likes his take away too but hes not that messy but PeterPan likes to dig into her food and send it to the four corners of the universe looking for the tasty bit st the bottom of the bowl ...one of these would be just the job for her LoL :)
(I should add my guys are not Eclectus )

Its funny... Salty will, no matter what is being offered, always take the first bite or mouthful or beakful, and discard it. He doesnt throw it ways, he just drops it into the big stainless bowl under his dinning room boingy. Doesnt matter what it is... chicken, peanut,
treat or veggie...... the first one goes out with the bathwater!

Pebbles is certainly a smart cookie, I probably should have guessed this would happen, given her preference to hold her food, but the chop is the stuff that ends up everywhere so as loom as this stays in the feeder, I am happy

I got asked to put up some pictures of Bear, our 17 week old Labrador

I think Gizmo and Pebbles are just strange, but they love frozen peas. I often use these for flight recall training. I defrost the frozen peas and put them in a glass cup (so they can see the contents).

They are so obscessed by this, that if they ever got out, I would take a glass of peas with me to get them back out of a tree. If Gizmo is being a cheeky bugger and sitting up on a curtain rail refusing to come down, using the words "look peas" as I show an imaginary pea between my index finger and thumb, will result in an instant recall.

Fortunately the new puppy loves pea skins, so any missed pea skins are later cleaned up by Bear (17 week old Labrador), it's a fully closed ecosystem treat:D
Cheers,
Cameron

Great stuff, parrots and their peculiarities :) Gotta see some pics of Bear also please.

I didn't want to sidetrack someone else's thread, or start a new post, given this is a parrot forum, but I do love to share the personalities of all my animals, so I couldn't resist.

Here is a video of Bear (my wife named him bear as in teddy bear, but he is going to be a big boy, so the name fits him well). This video shows his personality at the moment, he has discovered extra dimensions (tables, chairs, beds, instead of just floors, all the places someone with a young puppy hides things), and that you can be naughty if no one is watching. About 1hr prior to the video the Coke bottle was taken off him and put on the bed. He was being unusually quiet, so I went to investigate, this is what I found:

[ame="http://youtu.be/9SdHrZDtrMg"]Bear, didn't I say you couldn't have that - YouTube[/ame]

He really is a nice boy, I was proud that he remembered what I had done with the Coke bottle 1hr ago, not so proud that he decide 1hr later it was OK to get the bottle again:D

Just seeing this thread, Cameron! Love the new food containers. I'd definitely have gotten one of those if Bixby was still around. He used to toss food halfway around the room! Jolly and Maya are actually relatively tidy, though.

And your pup is growing so quickly! Beautiful dog!
