hi. i have a ringneck ... the problem is the day i got him he had a beautiful red beak but now it is loosing its red color and turning pink. also there are some spots that his beak is deformed a bit. he scratches it a lot to, scratches with his cage... what is the problem. please help. for more info if needed contact me at [email protected]

It could be a diet/vitamin & mineral problem, so ditto to the above - get him checked out.

Usually when the color goes away it means there is something missing nutritionally, what is his diet like? Rubbing his beak on the cage is normal, he's just using the cage bars to clean his beak.

Get yourself to an avian vet!! Birds can go downhill very quickly by the time we notice the symptoms, so please don't delay and get it checked out right away.
