Has anyone heard of birds getting arthritis? But especially at 4 months old?
Its a possibility. He has something wrong with his foot or leg. I won't know for sure till I take him to another vet, although they have had a few opinions and we are pretty sure this is the problem.
m getting him for free now, only because she knows ill look after him. So money isn't a problem, ill do whatever I need to help him for the rest of his life if this is the case.
Dows anyone know of any medications or anything to help with arthritis? I know they make osteo tablets for dogs and cats, but birds?

I think that is wonderful that you are willing to take care of this poor animal.
There are medications for the arthritis of animals, although it will probably be decided through blood work what the cause may be. Hopefully a good avian vet can help your bird and it can live a fairly painless life with the help of some of your expert care and medication.
Good luck :)

At 4 months i doubt it's arthritis. More likely a mild case of "splayed leg" or an injury.

Arthritis is simply an inflammatory condition in the joints for a number of reasons. Old age isn't the only cause. Auto immune disorders, bacterial infections, injuries, etc. there is even juvenile arthritis, so at least in humans it's not unheard of in youth.

They can get it at a young age if they have had an injury, which has most likely happened in the nest. I have him home now, its not so bad but it does look a little out compared to the other. His not in pain though. But he does favour the left leg more.

I just want to say good for you for having the compassion to take him and love him. You have a good heart.

Cayenne pepper sprinkled on food is excellent for arthritis and any swelling or pain and is very safe for birds

Oh we are just falling in love with this little guy! He is so loving, so cuddly, his a really good eater too! His just such a beautiful bird an he loves both me and Luke!
Scarlet is very in love with him, like.. Maybe a little too much.. Haha. She was force feeding him apple and banana -_- he did not want it lol..
But then she was grabbing him because he was walking away, trying to kiss him constantly and in the end he had enough he cracked it. So I've separated them and slowly letting them interact a few times a day, there getting there. She just needs to be calm and slow down but I think she's a bit too excited haha. They will be good friends I think! :)
