Loki:yellow2: will not eat anything except seeds....I have tried offering fresh veggies, fruits etc but he refuses. He is not hand tame so I can't offer it with my hand so I put it in a seperate dish and take the seed out. He still won't touch it :( Is there anything special that lovebirds seem to love that I can get him? I feel bad that all he's eating is seed...

I made a mash that I give to my birds and froze it. I then defrost it along with some grains mix that I set in water overnight. I mix them together and my birds just love it. It takes like a couple of minutes to do each night and then put it in their bowls in the morning for a couple of hours.

I got my birds to eat it my removing their pellets in the morning so that they would be hungry and try it. They like it more then pellets now. I can't remember what I put in the mash. I found a recipe like this one EAT YOUR VEGGIES!!! and bought the stuff that I could easily get and blended it all together. I put in bananas, different types of beans, broccoli, and other stuff that I don't remember.

You can bring Loki to my house for dinner :D. They often learn from each other and when they see the others gobbling down the fruits/veggies .... they start eating them. All 6 of mine eat fruits, veggies and whatever else you put in their bowls ... they came to us with only seed and junk food diets. Luckily we started our flock with the B&G and she LOVES to eat LOL.

I started with mashed pumpkin and put Loads if seeds in just to kinda cover the seeds with the flavour
once they got used to it I added less and less seed until it wad just pumpkin and then started adding bits to that then less of the pumpkin more of whatever
also for fruits I would start with the juice of it in place of their water
I would then add a piece of the fruit inti the juice so they got used to what it looked like and then started to move it further and further away from the juice eventually they were eating anything i chucked in there
