Hello all. Some of you know I brought Oliver home in Saturday last week. They gave me seed/ nut/ fruit mixture and pellet mixture as well. He has two seed bowls and I fill one with seed/ nut fruit and the other pellets. He of course goes for the seed/ nut and gobbles it down every morning. By the time I get home at 4:00 that bowl is empty and the pellet owl is untouched I know that sunflower seeds are high in fats but that seems to be all he wants is the seed/ nut/ fruits. Should I not worry or should changes be in store for Oliver. Mind you he is " just" 4 months old, so maybe he needs this high calorie content right now.

He is eating what he knows is food. Being naturally curious and the fact they imitate and become creatures of habit... try this.. Put some of his pellets on your plate and eat them. See if he goes to investigate and try them himself. If they taste like crap to you it probably does to him, so don't hesitate to change brand of pellets.. Personally I steer clear of any that looks like ""fruit loops"... too much dyes. And be patient.. also offer fresh fruits and veggies.. using the same method... him seeing you eat them.. no kidding it worked for me

Really!!??? I will have to try that. I bought what he was supposedly accustomed to eating at the nursery after weaning. They actually look like colored dry cat food. Different shapes, colors, numbers. But I will experiment. Thank you.
