Happy to have you with us. Our birds will naturally eat 2 times a day, morning and evening. Since birds should have a quality sleep of 10-12 hrs a night and you wake up early you should adjust the bedtime so she gets this many hours of sleep. That means no TV or other human noises in the sleep room. GCC are fun birds.

My GCC get fed fruit, veggies & sprout mix morning & afternoon. They have a quality dry seed mix with pellets & some pine nuts mixed together available at all times & of course fresh water.

They wake at dawn & are settling down for the night as the sun goes down. My birds are not kept in a room by themselves they live in the family room where all the action is. I have a sleep tent in their cage as well as a cover over the cage. My birds always put themselves to bed at around 7 or 8 pm it depends on the seasons. Once they settle in their tent for the night i cover their cage with the cover. Parrots also have little naps through the day as well.

Parrots have fitful sleep they don't sleep the way we do. It's their wild instinct to alert them to predators that lurk in the dark.

My GCC has pellets available at all times. When I get up he gets some veggies, and sometimes birdie bread. When I get home from work at night, I usually work on his training for a while. During his training sessions he gets fruit or seeds as treat/reward.

My GCC has about the same schedule as yours.

one question though, do you make the birdie bread or buy it? If you make it, do you have a recipe you could share?

While you are in school, I would feed them around 6 a.m., whatever you give them for breakfast whether it is fresh food, veggies, bread or pellets. They should be fine while you are gone and since you get home around 3 p.m., that would be the perfect time to take them out and interact with them offering them their favorite treats. If you feed them pellets, seeds or whatever, make sure you leave some in their cage at all times as my conures will wake up from a nap and immediately go looking in their food bowls for a snack. I've also witnessed them doing this late at night and very early in the morning. I cannot stand the thought of them being hungry so every day I put a fresh scoop of their food in their cups so they have something available whenever needed.
Once you are out of school you should be able to easily adapt their schedule to yours even if that means feeding them a little later in the mornings, as long as they have something in their cage.
My birds have all had to adapt to my schedule at some point. Sometimes they are fed breakfast early in the morning and at other times, I have fed them later. I always give them a midafternoon snack of toast, beans, pasta or rice.
They aren't in my living room, but my bird room is in close proximity of my living room. Even with the TV on, they sleep and I do not cover their cages, but I do turn out all lights and close their door. I'm sure they can hear the noise in the other room, but it doesn't appear to bother them. On the rare occasion I've had to go in their room after lights out, I get fussed at by very sleepy birds.
