Heat

My Hubby just build me a bird room addition to the back of our house. What type of heat is recommended ? Last night it got down to 48 here, and the bird room was a little chilly this morning. It is well insulated, but I will need to heat it. Is the electric radiator heater that is filled with oil safe ?

Re: Heat

It's initially up to your bird, I wouldn't go below 68 though. Personally, my RFM likes the room to be 75-80 if it's 70 she shivers. Then again she likes extremely hot showers, just like me too. lol

Re: Heat

An electric filled Oil Radiator is fine to put in there.

Re: Heat

Thanks the oil filled radiator is what I wanted to use for the fire safety. I have one that we have used for several years, so it should have any coatings burned off by now.

This is correct with one exception. Ensure the one you purchase does not have Teflon. Some do and some don't.

None of our Radiators here in the UK have teflon! I am not sure about the USA!! If they do, then I would think it would only be the very old ones.
