What do your fids think about Birdie Bagels? I have never bought some for my girlies or Oliver, so I wanted to know if they are popular around here on the forum. So... Do your fids love 'em? Hate them? List your opinions!

And wood? None of my fids have taken ONE little interest in wood. Except for popsicle sticks... but they have to be colored, or else to the floor of the cage they go! Oliver hates wood toYs, and so do Bella and Zora! Again, what are your birds opinions on wood? What type of wood? Are they a birdy wood chopper? Or do they look at wood and say, "Eh."

List your birds' opinions! Ready... Set... GO!!
:D

RIP Constantine: Jenday Conure
Con goes crazy for Birdie Bagels. I get mine from CA Bird Nerds and the lady that runs it is fricking awesome. She sent one as a free toy and my wallet never had a chance once Con found it.

I love CA Bird Needs! Same thing happened when Bells discovered vine balls. ;)

Pepper, a Timneh African Grey
The only interest Pepper has in wood is nesting-she is fascinated with the baseboards under the kitchen cupboard overhand and she scrapes her beak along it. She's thinking nesty thoughts.

But as far as chewing and shredding? Nothing yet. I have heard sometimes smaller birds prefer balsa-easier to chip away. But overall she's more a paper shredder and cloth piercer.

Cody-Blu, female Blue-Crowned Conure, Hatched - (approx) June 1, 2014, in a South Florida tree.

Pritti (Cherry-Head Conure) -- Fly in Peace my beautiful boy. Forever I'll love you.
Pritt loves turning wood into sawdust and splinters. Funny thing is that he mostly wants to do that with the wood he shouldn't have (cabinet doors, window frames, etc.). He has plenty of wood toys and all kinds of wood perches, and he definitely chews on them and picks at them, but not as much as I would have thought. He plays with the non-wood parts and types of toys more. I think it's because the wood toys are around the cage all the time, but the other items are part of his adventures and sneaking around the house, foraging for fun, lol. You could try putting one of the wood toys somewhere outside the cage area, where your birds are allowed to go, if you have a spot like that. I.e. kitchen floor. Then let them find it when you put them down.

Scooter -- male Green Cheek Conure "Normal" but that's a matter of opinion! Hatched in March 2010

Scotty -- Male Cape Parrot hatched somewhere between 2007-2009 we think

Caballo Blanco -- male C
Bagels seem to be fun to throw on the floor, but don't get a lot of chewing. Scooter only goes for balsa wood, but that he loves for the few minutes it lasts. Blanco is a hard sell on toys, period. Scotty likes chewing plastic best, but works away on wood and leather.
