Diamond got his first walnut today. Tao came home from the store with a bag full, as they were a good price.
She showed him one and he seemed somewhat interested, as Tao+kitchen usually means something he is very interested in. Putting it in his dish, he took a look but didn't care. Doesn't seem eatable and not a good toy, why is this here?
So she cracked it a little bit and gave it back. Now he was more interested. He pulled the pieces apart and got the flesh out, no problem. He looked very happy holding a portion in one foot and chomping away on it.
Now I worry though that a walnut is much to much food for him. Pionus' can get fat, and he's not flying. Just how many calories does a bird use in a day?
