probablly a silly question............can you buy fertile tame bird eggs and incubate? I do chickens,ducks,turkeys and pheasants, i see them for sale. i have lots of finches and lovebirds, really want a big bird. i am a stay at home mom and would love to have a parrot.

The biggest difference is that chickens, ducks, turkeys and pheasants all can take care of themselves from hatching to a large degree, any parrot type bird is born totally helpless and requires a lot of care.

Uhh I really don't know.. But I once incubated and hatched a clutch of Quail eggs one time. It was so fun.. But I know quail are a lot easier to take care of than a baby parrot. Parrots you'll need to syringe feed and such.
Edit: lol I just saw the tamed part. Haha nah I don't think so, but that would be cool though, eh?

The eggs don't come tamed....lol.....they become tamed from the way they were raised. Yes they do sell just the eggs but most of those places are fake. It's a delicate process and very very tiring to raise a day old chick. It's not as easy and simple as some may think. I've done it countless times cause I was forced to inorder to keep them alive. There's many issue you may encounter and if you don't know what to do you will cost the baby their life.

You will have to be around so no working. When I used to do it I was breeding full time so I had all the time in the world. But now days IF I must I'll deal with late night feedings and if it needs day time feedings I bring them to a friend that's a breeder, she can take over when I'm at work. And I can function at work just fine with an hour of sleep.... it's a tough process.....
It's generally not recommended to buy an unweaned baby parrot, the process of raising a baby parrot is very delicate and if messed up, could result in sickness with the baby or sometimes even death. Like others said, you'd also have to take 5 months or so of feeding and close care in order to raise one. Almost all places that sell fertile parrot eggs are scams, anyways.
There are many wonderful breeders who produce healthy babies and even better, lots of big birds that need a home! That would be a much more rewarding route. Even though raising your own baby seems sweet at a first thought, the problems are a bit too high.
